What is Healing Touch for Animals®?
Healing Touch for Animals® (HTA) was founded by Carol Komitor, who used her veterinary technician and Healing Touch experience to design a program that catered specifically to animals. Through a combination of gentle hands-on touch, aromatherapy and sound therapy, HTA supports an animal’s energetic system to bring balance and healing to their physical, mental and emotional states. The techniques are gentle and safe, and can be used to support animals of all species and sizes through any stage of life. Learn more at the HTA website.
What conditions are addressed during a session?
HTA can support animals through a wide range of conditions. Some common conditions include:
Acute or chronic pain
Illness or disease
Past trauma or abuse
Injury recovery
Stress or anxiety
Inappropriate behavior
Overall health and wellness
The techniques used by The Healing Body Energy Therapy enhance the healing process and are intended to supplement, not replace, traditional veterinary or medical healthcare. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat specific health conditions. Please consult with a veterinary or medical professional for care as needed.
What should I expect during a session?
For in-person sessions, I travel to your location so your animal remains in a space they are most comfortable. I will start the session by asking some questions about your animal’s health concerns and discussing your goals for the session. After assessing your animal’s energy system to determine the proper treatment plan, I will use light touch to facilitate HTA techniques, most of which are hands-on and may be held for several minutes at a time. I may also utilize sound therapy with OM tuners and/or aromatherapy. Throughout the session I will explain the purpose of each technique and discuss any energy shifts I am observing.
A session lasts approximately 45-60 minutes and I do request that owners remain near their animal during the entire time and discuss with me any observations they notice with their animal’s response. After I have completed the techniques I will re-assess their energy system with my pendulum and discuss with you follow-up recommendations.
What if my animal won’t sit still or is nervous?
It is not unusual for animals to be nervous when meeting new people, especially if there has been a history of emotional trauma or abuse. It is important that everyone remain safe, so I am happy to modify my session plan if your animal is exhibiting nervous behavior. In my experience, an anxious animal will adjust quickly and is much more relaxed by the second session.
If you are concerned about your anxious animal, please try to create a quiet space for the session and remove distractions as much as possible prior to my arrival. I also recommend keeping a leash handy in case your animal is fidgety.
How do distance sessions work?
Because all living beings are connected through a particular energetic frequency, healing touch sessions are also effective at a distance and can be conducted from a different location. Before the session, I will discuss with you over the phone your animal’s health concerns and your treatment goals. I will then use my intention and energetic senses to assess and treat your animal from a distance. There is no need for you to remain on the phone with me during the duration of the session, but I do ask that you remain near your animal to make observations. I also ask that the environment remain calm during the session (no feedings, walks or other major distractions). After I have completed the techniques I will call you back so we can discuss the treatment and next steps.
What is the Thumbprint Balance® technique?
The Thumbprint Balance® technique was developed by Carol Komitor, founder of Healing Touch for Animals®. I use five different essential oils on various points on your animal’s body to assist with structural support, pain relief, energetic balance and self-healing. The oils are applied in layers in order to build on each other and enhance their effectiveness. All oils used are safe and gentle for animals and only the minimal needed amounts are applied.
Some challenges that may be supported by using this technique are:
Accident/injury
Disease
Emotional concerns/grief/trauma
Sore muscles
Stress/anxiety
